My Adventures at.... V Festival

I'm backkkkk.... :D

Hello you lovely lot!

I am back from having a very long break and I cannot wait to start making new blog posts on lots of different things I have been doing over the past month or two, so keep an eye out as I will be writing more frequent posts. I hope you will enjoy reading them :)

I was lucky enough to finally get my hands on a V Festival ticket so on Friday 16th August me and a group of my friends headed down to Staffordshire, it was such a glorious day too which made our excitement reach a whole new level. When we arrived we unpacked the car it looked like we brought everything but the kitchen sink!

Luckily 2 members of our group traveled down early hours in the morning to set up camp for us so we were pretty jammy. However I thought that it would be a good idea to bring these "quenchy kups" which are those orange and blackcurrant drinks that kids have and you can freeze them to make frozen ice drinks, I'm sure you know what I mean I think they were in every ones childhood. Anyway our tent was like the furthest away in "Blue Camp" so as you can imagine there were 5 of us dragging all our stuff in the blistering sun and our bin bags were snapping so quilts were escaping, yes that's right blumming quilts! they wanted to sleep in luxury haha anyway after walking for about 45 minutes I was dying of pain, my little muscles were giving up on me because my box of quenchy kups was digging into my arm (i'll show you evidence later) and I was just going to leave them behind in the sludgy mud. But as a trooper I am I carried on XD

This bruise was 4 days old when I took the photo!
All down to a cardboard box XD
We decided to ask where this "Blue Camp" was so this woman said "carry on walking right down to the bottom, turn right, go up the hill, and then carry on walking and you will see it" my heart just dropped when she mentioned the hill..I thought it was going to be the end of me.

We got there in the end and to be fair all we had to do was drop our stuff in our tent and that was it... The weekend could begin!

I saw so many acts it was unbelievable, I don't even know how we managed to fit them all in. In total we saw like over 19 acts!

I obviously have my favourites and they were:
  • Jessie J
  • The Script
  • Jason Mraz
  • Olly Murs
  • Calvin Harris
  • Gabrielle Aplin
  • Ellie Goulding
  • The Saturdays
There are a few that surprisingly disappointed me slightly only slightly, possibly due to lack of audience interaction. You wouldn't think that has a huge impact but it really does.

Obviously I was ecstatic my idol was there, Beyonce! :D I waited with my 2 best friends from 3pm till 9.30pm for her so you can imagine my scream when she finally came dominating the stage. Now I can never really call her because she can't do no wrong however, I was kinda let down with little things she did, I waited half an hour for her even though I knew she was here because on Saturday it announced she was on rides having a ball and she was still late. At the time I wasn't that bothered but looking back it was a little unfair. The thing that got me was the amount of times she had an outfit change. I just wish she had concentrated on singing a lot more songs. She basically fitted a whole concert of the Mrs. Carter Show into an hour slot which was amazing but I felt it was rushed.

Has she made me less of a fan? Definitely not! But I haven't listened to her since :/

I think it is only because I have waited to see her live for absolutely ages, years even. So my expectations of her were extremely high after watching so many YouTube videos and the Glastonbury performance, so any slight fault would disappoint me because I wanted it to be the best thing I had ever seen.

I definitely would go to a festival again, infact I am hoping to go to Leeds depending on the line up next year, because it will last longer too!

Here are a small collection of photos from the weekend.... Enjoy! :)

Nail Art Tutorial

Hello! :D

To mix things up a bit I thought I would do a nail art tutorial, now I am not the best at this at all, but like the majority of people I think it's just trial and error and copying from a picture xD

I really like having floral nails because I have noticed a lot of people comment and compliment them which is always nice :)

These are the colour nail polishes I used. To create this look you can vary the shades based on your personal preferences :)

The first thing I did was paint my nails with the duck egg blue. It doesn't have to be perfect as you can remove the mistakes at the end :)

Wait for them to dry and then apply little white dots on every finger apart from the accent nail :)

After they have dried blob a dot of pink polish to the accent nail, put as as many as you like, and this will be the base of the flower :)

Then to make the pink dots into flowers, apply the darker pink nail polish around the blobs, it doesn't have to be neat, I think wiggly edges look better to be honest. Now just make little green blobs at the edges of the flower for leaves. You can use one shade of green if you like I just prefer the two toned effect.

And this is the finished look :D I like to put a top coat on just so it doesn't chip as easily and I think it makes the overall look appear smoother and it vanishes tiny mistakes, as silly as at may sound.

I hoped you like this tutorial, I think it is really easy and the more you practice the better it will look :) Just to add you don't need those art nail bottle to create the little details, you could use a cocktail stick!

Thanks for reading this post, if you do try it out I would love to see your final result feel free to send your pictures on my Twitter @AFloralDelight :D

Primark Haul!

Helloo! :)

Recently I have been loving Primark, I feel every time I go in they have so much stuff I just fall in love with, and with the amount of times I have popped in for a sneak peak I come out with one (or shamefully two) huge bags! xD

The excuse I use is when you see something in there you need to get it because by the time you go back it will be gone!

The clothes shown below are a tiny amount of what I have bought in the last few months, but these are my favourites out of the bunch.

Electric Blue Jeggings
These jeggings are honestly the most comfiest pants I own. They are so stretchy but still look like a thick pair of jeans. Plus for £7 yes that's right £7 you could buy all the range for the same price as a pair of jeans from Topshop. I always have been put off jeggings because I think they are cheap looking and short lasting however even though they are labelled jeggins I would class them more as a soft jean.
Magenta Pencil Skirt

This pencil skirt only cost me £5! I have never owned one before so I didn't want to buy a really expensive one just incase I couldn't pull it off. So this was a perfect price for me to pay because if I really didn't like it I wouldn't be gutted at wasting my monies.

Navy Blue Blouse
I adore the cut out on this blouse, I think it is so flattering especially with the bow at the top. It was only £8 which is a bargin. I find the way it hangs on the body is perfect to it floats past your belly so with a pair of skinny jeans it is very slimming. The only thing I would say is the sizes are bigger than usual so maybe buy a size smaller unless you want the blouse really flowy.

A Pastel Floral Blouse

As you can see I love a blouse I think they are so feminine, especially with the pastel florals. I first saw this on a Youtube Video with EssieButton, and I was instantly like I need that in my wardrobe. So I got it! Haha :D
A Burnt Orange Bag
I was in Manchester yesterday when I spotted this, my friend was pursuading me to get it because I was being indecisive as to whether I needed it but you cannot have too many bags can you xD As you can see it is very spacious so it will be ideal for University, because it's stylish and versatile.

Coral Maxi Skirt
I bought this £10 maxi skirt once again for a trial to see whether I liked it and to see if I suited it. I love it for a summer outfit with a vest top and a waste belt :D

A Printed Dress
I love this dress! It is so flattering and the way it nips you in at the waist and i think it is the perfect length, just above the knee not too high and not too low. They still have it in stock and in a few prints for £8 so get your hands on it.
Cotton Emerald Green Dress

These dresses are everywhere and I am sure everyone has got one since they sold them in every shade under the sun and for £5 it is great for a throw on over a bikini.
Floral Red Dress

I first saw this dress being worn by Kate Middleton's Hairdresser the day Kate was being released from Hospital after the birth of her baby boy. It looked quite expensive until I realised where it was from! ASOS featured it on their website too. For £13 I think it is a must have!

I hope you enjoyed looking at some of the clothes I have recently purchased. I think Primark has really improved on their clothing range, yes the price has increased a little bit but you can really see how much higher the quality of clothing is, in my opinion I would rather pay that little bit extra knowing that it will last longer.

Thankyou for sparing your time to read my post I really appreciate it :)

Beauty Favourites!

Helloo! :)

As we are in the summer month of August I thought I would share my beauty favourites with you, since I do find it interesting reading/watching other bloggers and finding out what products they have been obsessed with!

Before I get into revealing my top 10 products, which is going to be quite long I suggest you get a cuppa tea and a biscuit so you can sit back, relax and enjoy :D

My Top 10 Products!

My first products are the Revlon Photoready cream blushes! Since I bought the stippling brush by E.L.F as I heard that these types of brushes are amazing at applying cream blushes (a little tongue twister there for you xD) I really wanted to test it out for myself! So I went to my nearest Boots store and looked around for a selection; I noticed that cream blushes weren't that popular with makeup brands and if they happen to sell them, they were a lot smaller than expected for the price I had to pay. Until I discovered these little beauties!

Now I know they seem very bright and scary, trust me when I first saw them it took me by surprise. However they are a lovely colour when applied to the cheeks and they are great for building up colour too. They have 3 colours to choose from, obviously the two I have and then a nude colour aswell, I just didn't buy the nude one because it didn't stand out to me. At the time Boots had an offer on everything 3 for 2 so I picked these up and a third item and it worked out at a really good price. They are very long lasting, easy to apply and you get a lot of product so they will last a really long time, as a little bit goes a long way.

Next... Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail polish. I have heard so many beauty bloggers rave on about these so I won't waffle on too much! All I will say is they are really amazing! One coat is all you need as they are very thick and opaque. I have the colours Pomegranate and Blue Grape, the third nail polish isn't a Gelly Hi Shine but it's a lovely colour so I thought I'd include it anyway as it deserved a mention and that colour is Teal. They are worth the hype and definitely go and purchase them if you haven't already. Boots usually have them on offer all the time :)

Blue Grape is my favourite :D

Rimmel Apocalips! They are another hyped up product so I will only mention these briefly too! My favourite shades are: Apocaliptic, Big Bang,Stellar and Celestial. They are very highly pigmented as you can see from the picture below and that was with one coat! They are very affordable, long lasting and glossy. Some people have said they are moisturising  however I didn't find that was the case, I need to apply a lip balm underneath before I apply it because I find them drying after a few hours. Apart from that minor issue these are amazing!

Not long now I promise xD

We now move onto the Real Technique makeup brushes. I don't know about you but I just can't seem to splash out £27 on ONE Mac foundation brush, I can imagine they are amazing and professional as they are from Mac, but I just can't seem to part with my money for one item at that price, especially when you can get high quality, long lasting brushes else where. That's when I discovered these beauts in Boots. They are made by makeup artist called Samantha Chapman, who has a beauty channel on Youtube called Pixiewoo, go and check her out she is superb! Anyway for £21 you can get 4 makeup brushes that allow you to apply makeup all over the face from lips to cheeks to face, they are definitely multitasking brushes so can be used however you want. They have Taklon bristles so they are very soft and easy to clean, and since they are synthetic so cruelty free (which is always a plus in my books) if you ever need  a new makeup brush go and buy just one if you need to and see if you love them as much as me.

I am going to quickly comment on this felt tip MUA eyeliner. For £2 it is really long lasting, even on the hottest days in the UK, which I know aren't frequent but this product lasted through those sweltering days in July! Pretty impressive I know :) It's a great cheap product and if you read my MUA review here you will already know I am a huge fan! It ticks all my boxes and is definitely worth purchasing.

Finally we are one paragraph till the end yayy!!!!

Last and by no means least, we have the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos. I have the shades Permanent Taupe and On and On Bronze. These are the best cream eyeshadows I have ever used, they are so easy to apply, even with my fingers, they blend like no other and they also are great as a base for powder. I find applying powdered eyeshadow over the top or in the crease really does make the eyeshadow last a very long time. I don't know about the 24hr statement that they stand by because I have never worn the makeup that long xD unless I slept in it haha. I think they are an amazing product at such a cheap price.

Yayyy!!! If you managed to get to the end :D I anticipated it was going to be quite lengthy but blumming eck I do waffle on haha. I just  wanted to give a full and honest opinion and if that means writing a post as long as a book then I hope it was worth it xD

I'd just like to add I didn't write my opinion on everything, just in case you thought I accidentally missed the eyeshadow pallette, mascara and foundation, its only because you really would be here forever!

Thanks for reading, if you have any anything to ask on any of the products shown or you disagree with my opinions comment below I would really appreciate it :)

OR if you have any makeup looks with these products feel free to show me on my new twitter :D @AFloralDelight  I would love to see how you use these products!

MUA Power Pout Review!

Hellooo! :)

I am a huge fan of MUA products ever since I purchased their heaven and earth eye shadow palette, which I think is amazing for £4 the colour pay off is exceptional! I think it's a must have especially if your a newbie to eye shadow and you just want to experiment without paying an arm and leg.

Anyway back to the product I'm supposed to be reviewing haha. I was in Superdrug the other week when I spotted these new lip products, obviously I was instantly drawn to see whether they were any good and I was really impressed. I heard about these types of products from other brands like the Chubby Sticks by Clinique or the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain but as I didn't want to pay a whopping £17 per stick I thought I'd try the cheaper version.

These are the 4 shades I chosen from the range to buy: Crazy In Love
                                          (From the top)              Broken Hearted
                                                                      Rendezvous
                                                                   Runaway
They have 6 colours to chose from, and they vary from nude to a coral to a berry shade which for me is ideal as I think these shade are great for any skin colour. As for the texture and colour pay off I feel they are good quality and not tacky/sticky. They have a minty taste, which is always a bonus, and they are very moisturising. They also have a glossy appearance and stay put for a few hours.

These are the colour shades: Runaway
             (From the top)          Rendezvous
                                                Broken Hearted
                                             Crazy In Love

As for packaging, it is quite disappointing to be honest, the tube which the product is in is completely fine. However, the lid always slips off in my make up bag which damages the lip balm. Also in some of my sticks the lip balm is quite loose, as if it has melted a little and wobbles around which is quite annoying.

Apart from that I love these products, and for £3 you really can't grumble! They are still available in Superdrug on the MUA counter so grabs your hands on some and try them out yourself!

No7 Review

I have never really indulged into No7 products, because I thought for a Boots own brand it was quite expensive especially as you can get similar products elsewhere for a much cheaper price. Anyway the other day I was minding my own business in Boots just having a gander around the beauty sections when this flamboyant man came prancing towards me flapping a leaflet saying "come and get your foundation colour matched today!" I was like oooh why not...

So I went and he put this handheld machine/console towards my face it bleeped a few times and then that was it it figured out my skin colour and linked a foundation to match! A pretty nifty gadget really. Just to add they have over 17 skin colour foundations available so whatever skin colour you are they will have a foundation to match you.

Here are all the shades available

I was the colour shade "Calico" which to add is the lightest shade possible, I really need a tan so I don't look as pale :( but it was a perfect match. I was really impressed. He was really nice and made me laugh quite a bit because whilst he was putting the foundation on my face he was saying he was trying to get the woman behind me as she looked like a tangoed umpa lumpa LOL!

He also showed me how to apply bronzer which was a great help because that is the one thing I really struggle with... I turn out like I have been in the mines digging out coal.

Here is my foundation shade "Calico" and the piece of paper shows what the colour actually looks like out of the bottle

Obviously he was trying to persude me into buying the product saying it is a premium brand etc... I was a bit hesitant whether to buy it because it was £14 which compared to Mac or Benefit is really isn't much but I couldn't resist especially with a free £30 goody bag if you buy any two products, so you could buy two nail polishes for £6 each and get the goody bag too!

I must say I am very impressed with the range and sizes of samples given, the mascara is amazing.
Within the goody bag you get:        - a pearly pink eyeshadow
                                                     - a "coral kiss" lipgloss
                                                                             - a triple protection tinted moisturiser
                                         - a mascara
                                                                   - and finally a "airbrush primer"
I usually use the Rimmel "Wake Me Up" foundation in "true ivory" however now looking at the No7 colour liquid and the Rimmel colour liquid you can really see the difference No7 looks like a skin colour and Rimmel looks far too orange.

I can now say I've converted into using No7 products! They still have the goody bag offer available until Tuesday 6th August.. which is tomorrow so quick get yourself into Boots and get your freebies!

An Update

Hello Everybody!

Sorry about the lack of posts recently (or should I say for the past few months aha) I have just been dabbling away doing bits and bobs and time has just flown by! And before I know it we are in August, I don't even know what I have done with my Summer....

On the plus side, I am going to V FESTIVAL :D yayyyy! I recently bought my sleeping bag, wellies and raincoat so bring on the rain and whatever a festival has to offer. I cannot wait to finally see Beyonce at my first ever festival too! I am just in love with her.. there we go I've said it.

Since my last post on the 21st January...I told you time has flown by, I have finally found a new job at a pub which I absolutely love, I feel like I have a little family there, everyone is so lovely and I am working with my best friend Emily Dodman. Get ready for the plug now, she also has a blog so if you have any spare time please feel free to check it out it's anoverheatednorthwestbliss.blogspot.co.uk it is really good :)

Surprisingly I did well in my Uni exams and managed to get a 1st :D I don't have a clue how I managed that I call it a fluke but I am not complaining.

Things coming up...

I am finally going abroad after 4 very long years, I am off to sunny Spain for 3 weeks so I should hopefully get a tan before I go back to Uni. I am very excited because I am visiting a part of Spain where my grandparents used to live so it will be like a big reunion with everyone that I met many moons ago! Plus it is an amazing excuse to carry on my shopping addiction :D

You have reached the end! Well Done :D but honestly thank you for reading an update on my life and if you have any suggestions for future posts please comment below and I will happily take them on board :)

The World Of Soap And Glory

I am a huge fan of unique and eye-catching products so Soap and Glory ticks all my boxes. I just love the way they use vintage photos on their packaging and all the fancy writing too!

So here's how I became a Soap and Glory fan... I was introduced to Soap and Glory products around the time of my birthday my Grandma and Grandad bought me the "Birthday Box"so I was very excited as I had never owned a single bottle of Clean on Me or the Smoothie Star, which I absolutely love the smell of by the way.

So as I were saying I had received this "Birthday Box" which then escalated into me basically owning my own Soap And Glory store. I just can't help myself every time I see something new by them I have to either buy it or just take a sniff of it because I can assure you they always smell pretty divine. These are a few products I own...

Now Sugar Crush is definitely without a doubt my favourite, It smells so bluming good. I'd say it smells like a sugary lime. Now I know that's what it says on the tub, but there is nothing that smells quite like that, which is what I love about it. When applied you can tell it works well because you can feel the macadamia grains working their magic as your skin feels so soft afterwards. So for £8 it's definitely worth the money.

Following closely behind is the Smoothie Star
Now this body moisturiser reminds me of the smell of popcorn, it's such a sweet vanilla fragrance and the smell lasts a long time which is a bonus. This has a very thick consistency but I personally prefer a moisturiser  like this because I find a small amount goes along way.

I cannot recommend Soap and Glory highly enough. The packaging is super girly and is bursting with humorous sentences all over the bottles.
It is definitely worth a purchase as it hasn't let me down yet!

So Soap and Glory has a big thumbs up from me!

A Little Bit About Me And My Life....

A Little Bit About Me And My Life....

Well... what can I say I am a student studying for a degree in the city center of Manchester, living away from home, scrimping and scraping on bits of cash here and there trying to learn how to become an "adult"
That's enough about education for now.

Now as for my home life I live in a little house with my Mum and my 3 little rascal doggies named Max, Lola and Lucy. Obviously, as all animal lovers do, I have unique nicknames for them which I won't be sharing as I don't wish embarrass myself to you all

These are the little rascals : D

As for my "love life" it is near enough non existent I don't know what happened but I am no where near blessed with the naturally flirty attitude to attract the attention of opposite sex... sadly.
Maybe I will learn eventually and find myself a guy who is a combination of Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Gerard Butler (an oldy but still a hotty)

That will be all for now I will keep you all updated on my life if anyone or anything spontaneously pops up :)
